HERE we are. March 20, 2014. Her suggested due date has come and gone and baby girl has yet to make her appearance. This mama is getting a bit impatient, but I know she will come when she's ready. Nothing we can do will change the date the He has planned for her to arrive.
Since I was about 36 weeks, my body has continually progressed in preparation for labor. At our last appointment (March 13th), Dr. Lehnert said I was 90% effaced and dilated to a 2.5 cm. I was shocked to say the least that I had progressed that much. Lehnert told me he was inducing two women (that were a week after their due date) day that weren't as far as I was at this point. With much confidence, I started to believe I'd go into labor on my own and possibly even a little early. But, still no baby.
Family continues to check in daily with hopes that they'd hear good news. Mom calls me every day on her lunch break to get an update. I greatly anticipate and enjoy our quick afternoon chats as continues to encourage me that the end is nearing and she'll be here very soon. Their bags are packed to make the quick trip down once they receive our phone call.
Nursery is done.
My hospital bag and baby bags are packed.
Car seat bases installed in the vehicles.
Baby clothes washed and hung in her closet.
Calling list has been written.
Dustin's taking half a day off school and will go with me tomorrow to the appointment. We're hoping Lehnert will send us over to the hospital and get things going. If not, we expect a date to be set to get induced early next week.
Seems like tomorrow has taken forever to arrive, but it's finally here.
Time will tell when our lives will be graced by the birth of our little girl.
Words can't express how excited, scared, anxious and overjoyed we are to become parents.
